How can I help you?
Hello! I'm Amy.
We all question ourselves sometimes, the choices we make, the things we say to others and of course, we all want to do our best in life. But what happens when every day that bullying voice in your mind is telling you that you're useless, a failure and that you're not good enough?
It leaves you feeling hopeless, putting your needs last and prioritising keeping everyone else around you happy.
This is where I would love to help you! I can offer you a space to understand why your self-esteem and confidence is so low and how to begin to value yourself through boundaries, communication, self awareness and patience.
Why I do what I do
My passion for counselling began when I personally attended therapy for the first time as a result of a close family bereavement. Not only did it provide a safe space for me to process and come to terms with my loss but it also gave me the opportunity to work through other aspects of myself and my life. I found it fascinating as it seemed as though my counsellor was simply listening to me however the questions she asked and connections she made resulted in a life changing experience!
I felt a desire to want to help others in the same way my counsellor had helped me and it wasn't long after this that I decided to train to become a counsellor.
As well as Private Practice I have had experience in working with a local women's refuge providing counselling to survivors of domestic abuse as well as with the charity 'Mind - BLMK' working with those who are battling with mental health difficulties.
Through my work with these agencies and experience over time I have developed a passion for working with clients who were struggling with very low self-esteem and self-worth.
I consider it to be a privilege to be able to witness the positive change and growth that my clients have experienced in our work together.
I would love to work with you!
I look forward to hearing from you.
